Every year the Environmental Working Group (EWG) puts out a dirty dozen list, identifying the 12 fruits and vegetables that contain the most pesticides. According to the World Health Organization, when people come into contact with large quantities of pesticide, the result may be acute poisoning or long-term health effects that may include cancer and adverse effects on reproduction. Yikes! If you would like to avoid potentially harmful pesticides, consider shopping organic for these 12 dirty fruits and veggies. Also, always remember to wash your produce!
