Tour the Store

Tour the Store with a Wellness Ace

Whether you are a new Co-op Owner, or have been an Owner for years, you can schedule a tour of our store with one of our Wellness Aces!

Part of the Co-op’s mission is to provide our community with information and support for living a healthy lifestyle. The Co-op has created a network of health experts – “Wellness Aces” – to help our Owners and customers learn more about the benefits of healthy eating and negotiate making better choices when it comes to food.  Our Aces are certified across a range of specialties: from herbalists to fitness trainers, life coaches to dieticians, acupuncturists to naturopaths.  Additionally, Concord Food Co-op disseminates wellness news and tips through our weekly radio program (Community Connections during Good Morning New Hampshire on 107.7FM The Pulse), in-store signage and hand-outs, advertising and our monthly email newsletter. We believe a healthier community is a happier community.

If you are interested in a Tour of the Store, just email us at marketing@concordfoodcoop.coop and we will connect you with a Wellness Ace that can best answer your questions. Tours last approximately 30 minutes.

Meet some of our Wellness Aces:

Betsy Black is a passionate proponent and practitioner of health living through movement, diet and mindfulness. She has been a member of the Concord Food Coop for 34 years and loves the food and support for healthy living that the coop provides.

Dr. Amanda Hegnauer is a licensed primary care naturopathic doctor in the state of New Hampshire.  She earned her Doctorate from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ.  As a naturopathic family doctor Dr. Hegnauer sees patients of all ages.

Dr. Pamela Herring is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor specializing in Classical Homeopathy and Functional Medicine. She has had an office in Concord for over 30 years and was instrumental in the process of licensing of Naturopaths as Primary Care doctors in NH back in 1995.

Japhet Stevens is a local keto coach who works one-on-one specializing in helping those with IBS and related symptoms. Get expert help from certified keto coach Japhet Stevens (@eatifketo) as he takes you for a tour of the Co-op.  He’ll highlight the many keto-friendly foods we offer, including vegetables, spreads, nuts, cheeses, and supplements.

Ann Petersson is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Ann’s experience includes working one-on-one with clients at Nutrition Works NH! LLC, her private practice in Downtown Concord as well as roles as a Clinical Dietitian, Campus Dietitian and Eating Disorder Dietitian. Ann’s passion is helping individuals meet their unique health goals using a balanced, holistic approach. As a member of Dietitians in Integral and Functional Medicine Practice Group (DIFM) Ann is continually adding to her skillset in this area. Professionally Ann is passionate about promoting Dietetics volunteering with the NH Academy of Dietetics.  Overwhelmed with all the choices of foods? Want to learn how to decipher food labels to find nourishing choices that meet your dietary needs? This tour will empower you with skills to make informed choices about your food purchases. Highlights of the tour include: Reading food labels, defining macros, understanding different types of carbohydrates and more.

Dr. Deborah Sellars has been practicing as a Naturopathic Doctor in Concord since 1992.  She has been involved with Co-ops since the 1980’s and is an advocate of cooperative buying and support of local merchants. As a family practitioner Dr. Sellars spends time educating patients on how food is the best medicine.  Basing it on the premise that if one does not eat right then no matter how many supplements or pharmaceuticals one takes the body can’t heal or function optimally. Working as a “Wellness Ace” providing tours of the Co-op to individuals or groups, Dr. Sellars hopes to share her knowledge of the many options that the Concord Food Co-op has to offer, making it easier to find items that can support a healthier lifestyle.
