On Saturday, March 19th, CCEH will hold its 7th Annual SouperFest fundraising event at Rundlett Middle School. Starting at 4 PM, SoupFest will begin.  Chef Rob, Executive Chef at the Co-op, will run the kitchen by coordinating a variety of soups crafted and served by local soup chefs.  Vegan and vegetarian soups will also be served, as well as breads, dessert and beverages.

Steve Shurtleff will be serving his delectable clam chowder.  When asked why he personally volunteers for this event he replied, “There are over 50,000 homeless veterans in the US with 500 of them residing in NH. As a Vietnam veteran I believe it’s my obligation to do all that I can for my less fortunate brothers and sisters.”

The suggested donation for entry is $10 per attendee, and $5 for children under age 18.  For those looking for entertainment and activities for children of all ages, the festivities will begin at 2 PM, with FunFest, sponsored by the Boys and Girls Club.

Ellen Fries, Chair of CCEH, said that “SouperFest has become the trademark fundraiser of the Concord Coalition to End Homelessness.  The event is great fun for people of all ages, a showcase for our local soup chefs and bakers, and a tremendous opportunity to engage the wider community.  The funding it generates is critical to our ability to serve people who are experiencing homelessness and to find permanent solutions that further our vision of a Concord Community where everyone has a safe, decent, stable and affordable place to live.”
